Another milestone reached in the completion of Mochovce NPP
Slovenské elektrárne, an Enel group company, has reached another milestone in the completion of Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant Unit 3 and 4 by successfully completing installation of cabinets panels for Unit 3 Main Control system.
Installation activities took several months, involving work in the Main, Emergency and Common control rooms of Unit 3. The last step was the installation of control panels in the Unit 3 Main Control room, i.e. the command centre of the power plant from which it will be possible to control all systems, components and equipment of the power plant. It is the plant's "brain", which is able to of simultaneously monitoring over 35,000 signals by using the most up-to-date technology available on the market. The system was designed and supplied by the Areva-Siemens Consortium.
Earlier works included completion of the Common Control room, which will monitor selected systems of the Units 3 and 4, and the Emergency Control room, which will function as a back-up control room in case the Main Control room becomes uninhabitable.
