Čuňovo

The Čuňovo hydroelectric power plant was designed as part of the alternative solution to putting the Gabčíkovo water work into operation after Hungary's pulling out of the construction of the entire water work. The Danube riverbed supply is carried out through this HPP located in the structure of the alternative Danube river dam near Čuňovo, where there are installed four sets featuring a horizontal Kaplan turbine.

This power plant was operated by Slovenské elektrárne until 10 March 2015, when the operation was taken over by Vodohospodárska výstavba, a 100% state owned Slovak company.
