In case Slovenské elektrárne plans activity or new project with identified potential impacts or risks to the public, timely and transparent informing about environmental and social risks may be helpful for the public to understand goals and benefits of the activity or project. Public participation process through public consulting, discussions and commenting is an integral part of new projects, for which environmental impact assessment (EIA) is performed.
Stakeholder engagement is a continuous process and includes:
- identification of stakeholders and strategy of relations establishment;
- transparent and timely informing of stakeholders about safety, operational and environmental aspects of power plants, as well as any projects with potential impacts on stakeholders;
- tnformed consulting and stakeholder participation in new project assessment;
- process of stakeholder grievance settlement.
According to the Act on Free Access, public has the right to get information, as well as to complain about negative impacts of the Company’s activities and/or new planned projects.
