The Nosice hydroelectric power plant is a dam-type hydroelectric power plant and its reservoir performs the function of flow rate weekly balancing. The water used drainsnear the town of Púchov into the Dolné Kočkovce reservoir that is part of the oldest HPP cascade on the Váh river. However the Dolné Kočkovce reservoir has a relatively low retention capacity and the downstream HPP a relatively high maximum usable flow (150 m3.sec-1), therefore the Nosice HPP having its maximum flow rate close to 400 m3.sec-1 has a limited period of peak-load operation.
