Switch off electrical appliances except for refrigerators and freezers, extinguish all open fires and combustion appliances (gas boilers).
Close the main gas and water shut-offs, disconnect antenna systems from receivers.
Check that all windows are closed and lock the doors of your house/apartment.
Protect your food and water supplies against potential contamination – put them away in packaging, in the fridge, in the freezer or in the larder. Do not eat unprotected food!
Check whether your neighbours know about the evacuation before leaving your house or apartment.
Complete the first page of this form and affix or stick it to the front door of your house or apartment when you leave.
Do not turn off the main electrical circuit breaker!
Do not leave them outdoors; shut them in farm buildings.
Give them enough water and feed for at least 2–3 days.
Do not lock them in as it may be necessary for emergency response teams to have access to them to take care of them.
Protect stocks of water and feed against contamination by covering them with foil or tarpaulin.
Complete the second page of the form and attach it together with the completed first page in a visible location on the door of your house or apartment.
Personal documents – ID card, driving licence, health insurance card.
Money, payment cards, securities and the like.
Medicines that you take regularly, prescriptions and medical devices, baby care supplies.
Children’s writing and drawing materials, books, small toys and the like.
Basic food, packaged – non-perishable, for 2 to 3 days, including bottled drinking water.
Personal hygiene supplies and dining utensils.
Sleeping bag, blankets, spare clothes, shoes.
Mobile phone with charger, flashlight, spare batteries.
When leaving the house or apartment, protect your airways with toilet paper, a cotton handkerchief or a towel. Protect your body with suitable clothing that you take off when entering the vehicle (cap, raincoat, polythene covers on hands and footwear). Only evacuate in a reliable vehicle with sufficient fuel for the journey.
