Slovenské elektrárne has adopted the documents Code of Ethics and Zero Tolerance of Corruption Plan.
They enshrine the principles of responsible business to which our company subscribes. They are also a binding guide to action for each of us - employees, members of Slovenské elektrárne's bodies, partners, suppliers and all those who cooperate with our company (hereinafter referred to as "stakeholders").
Slovenské elektrárne is aware of the social impact of its business and therefore ensures that it adheres to the basic principles of responsible behaviour in the areas of value creation, human rights, economic and social development, access to basic services, dialogue with all stakeholders, principles of sustainable development, equal opportunities, transparent communication, accountability and occupational health and safety, so that our business activities make a positive contribution to the community and its sustainable development.
Slovenské elektrárne is committed to conducting all of its business activities in an honest and ethical manner and expects the same approach from its stakeholders. The Code of Ethics defines our standards of conduct, which provide practical guidance in our day-to-day business.
Our main commitments towards our business partners include compliance with applicable laws, fairness and fair competition, transparent communication and provision of truthful information, professional and courteous conduct, guaranteeing the maintenance of a set level of quality of the services and/or products offered and monitoring the perception thereof.
The main commitments in relation to employees include ensuring equal opportunities, prohibition of any form of discrimination, optimisation of professional skills, a system of continuous training and talent development, promotion of involvement in trade unions, working conditions respecting the dignity of the individual as well as a healthy and safe working environment, protection of privacy and personal data.
Last but not least, we are also committed to our social communities, in particular to minimise the impact of our activities on the environment and to respect human rights, the principles of the UN Global Compact initiative, the policies issued by the European Union on corporate environmental and social sustainability care and management.
Code of ethics
A practical tool has been developed for staff to support them in making the right decisions and to guide them to act in accordance with the key principles set out in the Code of Conduct and the Zero Tolerance for Corruption Plan. Each of us is responsible for ensuring that our decisions and actions in the conduct of our work are consistent with the wording and intent of the Code of Conduct and the Zero Tolerance for Corruption Plan.
Ethics handbook
The Zero Tolerance Plan defines the basic principles in the fight against corruption. Slovenské elektrárne does not tolerate any form of corruption, neither active nor passive, direct or indirect, and fights corruption in all its forms. For this reason, it requires honesty, transparency and fairness from its employees and members of the Company's bodies in the performance of their duties and imposes the same requirements on other stakeholders.
Among the main principles of the Zero Tolerance Plan for Corruption is the strict prohibition of accepting and offering bribes, bribery as well as indirect forms of corruption. It also regulates the acceptance and offer of gifts, hospitality and other benefits, prohibits contributions to political parties and movements, and lays down rules on support for charities and sponsorship.
Zero tolerance of corruption plan
All stakeholders with a relationship to Slovenské elektrárne are required by the Code of Ethics and the Zero Tolerance for Corruption Plan to report any violation or suspected violation.
The Company's Risk Management and Internal Audit Department will review the notifications and take all necessary actions to clarify them. At the same time, it shall take measures to ensure that persons who have provided information in the form of a notification are not exposed to any resulting danger, also guarantees the confidentiality of the identity of the whistleblower in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations and the Company's internal regulations.
